Dr. Erin Jenewein

Developmental Optometrist

Dr. Erin Jenewein earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry, and Philosophy from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, in 2003. She then went on to complete a Master of Science degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, in 2005. Her thesis, Rodent Retinal Models of an Inborn Error of Sterol Metabolism, won the 2006 University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award. She completed a residency at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision after graduation. In addition, from 2010 to 2015, served as an Assistant Professor and as part of the faculty of the Master of Science in Clinical Vision Research program. In 2015, Dr. Jenewein joined the Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry faculty. Her research interests include strabismus and binocular disorders.

Dr. Erin Jenewein has received the following accolades in her field: highest honors and professional distinction from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2009, Beta Sigma Kappa Silver Medal, American Optometric Foundation’s Dr. Terrance Ingraham Pediatric Optometry Residency Award 2009, Chief of Service of The Eye Care Institute at KID 2010-2015, and the Salus University Assistant Professor and Coordinator for the Pediatrics and Vision Therapy Residency. Dr. Erin Jenewein has lectured at the annual American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry meetings. She is Salus University’s Principal Site Investigator for the Multi-centered NEI-funded Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG), Investigator for the Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Trial Attention and Reading Trial (CITT-ART), and Principal investigator for the CHAMP Myopia trial. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the Binocular Vision, Perception, and Pediatric Optometry section of the Academy. She has provided poster presentations at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Academy of Optometry, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and SECO International Annual Meetings.
